Milly Alcock first gained stardom for her role as young Rhaenyra Targaryen in HBO’s House of the Dragon, now she is back to the television screen as she stars in Netflix’s limited series, Sirens, leading alongside Meghann Fahy and Julianne Moore. The actress spoke with IndieWire at the world premiere of the project that took place on May 20th in New York City.
Alcock first spoke of her experience working with Moore, calling her “graceful on and off screen,” along with saying, “It was just really inspiring, just learning off her.” The official plot description for Sirens is as follows:
Devon (Fahy) thinks her sister Simone (Alcock) has a really creepy relationship with her new boss, the enigmatic socialite Michaela Kell (Moore). Michaela’s cult-ish life of luxury is like a drug to Simone, and Devon has decided it’s time for an intervention. But she has no idea what a formidable opponent Michaela will be.” The series is set to be told, “over the course of one explosive weekend at The Kells’ lavish beach estate.
Alcock is also preparing to make her screen debut as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl in James Gunn’s Superman, which releases in theaters on July 11th, and is set to star in her own film, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, that will release next year. Most of the feature’s details are still largely under wraps, but Craig Gillespie is set to direct with a script from Ana Nogueria and will be inspired directly by Tom King’s 2022 comic series of the same title. IndieWire asked Alcock if she was given any solid advice from anyone on how to prepare to step into the infamous DC role, to which the actress replied, “No, I asked,” further explaining, “They were just like, ‘Prepare to be bruised, there will be battle scars, and you’ll be proud of them. That definitely happened!”
Sirens premieres on Netflix this Thursday, May 22nd.
