Michel Franco’s ‘Dreams’ Starring Jessica Chastain Launches Sales At AFM

Sales for Dreams, directed by Mexican filmmaker Michel Franco, have been launched by The Match Company at the AFM in Las Vegas. The Match Company was revealed to be the sales agent for the film back in July, and it has now opened up the film to other buyers.

Dreams stars Jessica Chastain (Molly’s Game, Interstellar), Rupert Friend (Asteroid City, Homeland) and Isaac Hernández. Hernández is a dancer, soon to be principal dancer for the American Ballet Theatre. This would make him the first Mexican Dancer to acquire the title in the company’s history. He made his acting debut in The King of All the World and also acted in Netflix’s Someone Has to Die as a ballet dancer.

Dreams marks Franco and Chastain’s second time working together, the first of which being Memory in 2023. That film debuted at the Venice Film Festival back in 2023, and Peter Sarsgaard was awarded with the Coppa Volpi for best actor.

Dreams follows a blooming romance between a luxurious socialite (Chastain) and a Mexican ballet dancer (Hernández) and how their relationship challenges their different lifestyles. He leaves behind his life in Mexico in hopes that she will help him achieve his dreams as an international dancer. Both of their resolves are put to the test as their career ambitions cross with their feelings towards each other.

The film is being produced by Teorema, Eastern Film and AR Content. Both Franco and Chastain will have producing credits, with Franco listed as a producer and director and Chastain being an executive producer.
