While not the most explosive box office weekend, Michael was still able to take back its crown, beating The Devil Wears Prada 2.
The film collected 26 million domestically, continuing to dance its way to the top for being one of the better performing films of 2026. The Devil Wears Prada 2 is still nothing to sneeze at, staying close behind with 18 million in its second week. Newcomer Obsession for its premiere took home third with 16.1 million. Mortal Kombat 2 continues to trail behind in its second week, only bringing in 13.4 million as it continues to underperform. The Sheep Detectives took home 9.31 million in its second week, beating out family film The Super Mario Galaxy movie which in its seventh week. This film was finally kicked down to the bottom five, taking sixth place with 4.45 million.
Project Hail Mary came in seventh place with 3.89 million after 8 weeks in theaters, beating re-release anniversary Top Gun which brought home 3.1 million. Newcomer In The Gray took ninth to beat fellow newcomer Is God Is with 3 million versus 2.22 million respectively.
