Many are excited to see the return of Spider-Man along with the others from Homecoming in the newest sequel in the Marvel Universe, Far From Home. However, it has been said that one big name will not be returning to reprise their role from the previous film. According to director Jon Watts, Former Batman actor, Michael Keaton, will not be reprising his role as the Vulture in the Spider-Man sequel.
Keaton is the main antagonist of Homecoming and was praised as one of the best elements being an all around compelling and fun villain to watch. The character is said not to return by Jon Watts during a Fandango interview, where he also stated that the Vulture’s daughter will not appear in the film either. Both characters played pivotal roles in the last movie, but considering where their characters ended up by the film’s conclusion, it was safe to assume they would not appear in the sequel. Some fans may have thought of a return for Keaton considering one of the post credits scenes in Homecoming set up for Keaton to team up with other Spider Man villains. However, that may not be the case given this announcement, though it is possible that there could also be hints to Spider-Man facing off against all of his antagonists in a future film in Far From Home.
Spider-Man: Far From Home is set to release on July 2nd 2019.
