Method Man Cast In ‘Waldo’ and ‘Concrete Cowboys’

The Wu-Tang Clan is making a big splash in Hollywood as Cliff Smith, known also by his moniker as rapper Method Man, has been cast in the upcoming films Concrete Cowboys and Waldo, according to Deadline. With the former directed by Ricky Staub and the former directed by Tim Kirkby, Method Man will join two casts helmed by Ibris Elba and Caleb McLaughlin and Mel Gibson and Charlie Hunnam.

In Waldo, Method Man is part of a story based on Howard Michael Gould’s novel Last Looks which follows a shunned LAPD detective living as a recluse for the past three years who is resurrected back into the line of duty by a former lover to solve the mystery of a murdered celebrity. Method Man will portray a popular rapper investigated by the detective named “Waldo.” The film will be adapted by Gould and features a cast that includes Morena Baccarin, Dominic Monaghan, Eiza Gonzalez, Clancy Brown, Lucy Fry, and Jacob Scipio.

As for Method Man’s role in Concrete Cowboys, the rapper will play Leroy, a good friend of the film’s main protagonist Harp (Elba) who grew up on Fletcher Street and acts as a mounted police officer for the city of Philadelphia. More on this story will be announced as it develops.
