Metallica Adds Suspense To It’s 3-D Concert Film ‘Through The Never’.

Metallica, and director Nimrod Antal (Predators), have created a state of the art, 3-D, dazzling pyrotechnic cinematic experience, with a twist – a narrative story arc.

Through The Never is a suspense flick blended into the middle of a serious heavy metal band performance – just when you thought thinking outside the box was dead.

The film stars Metallica band mates Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo, and adds actor Dane DeHamm (Chronicle, Amazing Spider Man 2), as Trip. Trip is a crew member who runs a crucial errand for the band during a show,  then has his life turned upside down as he becomes stranded in the middle of a riot caused by a grisly car crash.

The hybrid-feature includes Metallica’s “Wherever I May Roam” and “Master of Puppets”. Blabbermouth quotes drummer Lars Ulrich’s thoughts on making the film.

In the music world, you get very used to controlling your environment. In the film world, there is nothing to control. It’s like being in a complete clusterf..k – and there is a bizarre beauty in that.

Through The Never will have a 1 week IMAX run in North America starting September 27, and then expands theatrically on Oct 4.
