According to the Hollywood Reporter, Aml Ameen is coming out of the “Maze” to take on his first directorial role for his coming-of-age film, A Night Worth Living. Ameen is not the only actor to QC Entertainment has helped transition from onscreen to a place in the director’s chair. One of their most illustrious creators, Jordan Peele, made plenty of buzz in 2017 with his award-nominated and fan-favorite film, Get Out. Ameen is already decorated with awards in this field, as this is actually his return to the material, which he first released it as a much-aclaimed short. Bruce Purnell also helped penn the screenplay for this longer take on the material.
Ameen’s film will use elements of internet and mobile-based communication, especially fixtures which are popular amongst the teenage population.
For those excited for the movie, there’s more good news: the film’s casting process has already started! Skylan Brooks from The Get Down will be playing a blogger intent on anonymously cause a breakup in the relationship of a character played by Jaz Sinclair from Paper Towns. However, Brooks’ character not acting out of calculation or selfishness-Sinclair’s character’s boyfriend is actually cheating on her and he wants to put a stop to that.
So far production for A Night Worth Living is promised to begin in the next few months. There is currently no confirmed release date for the film.
