Maya Hawke, Andrea Riseborough, and Charlie Plummer are officially signed on to the upcoming independent drama Please Baby Please, according to Deadline. The film will be directed by author and revered theater veteran Amanda Kramer, with a script written by Kramer and Noel David Taylor. Please Baby Please takes place in the 1950s and follows newlywed couple Suse and Arthur, who share the unfortunate distinction of witnessing a murder in the streets of Manhattan by a vicious Greaser gang. This murder soon sparks a sleeping dilemma about the newlywed’s sexual identity.
Under the Paris Film banner, Rob Paris will be respectively producing the film alongside Guel Karakiz Bildik. Production will be eyed for a February 2020 commencement date. Hawke has become a rising star over of the last two years, making appearances in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time In Hollywood and the critically-adored third season of Stranger Things. Hawke also finished filming her scenes in the upcoming Gia Coppola film Mainstream alongside Andrew Garfield.
Riseborough is set to star in Nicholas Pesce’s revamping of The Grudge and Amazon’s crime series ZeroZeroZero, opposite Dane DeHann and Gabriel Byrne. The actress will also be featured in Possessor, Luxor, and Louis Wain, all currently in post production.
