Matt Reeves released a full scene of the Riddler crashing a funeral ceremony in the upcoming The Batman film. The director released it shortly after the scene had already been leaked.
The hype around the new standalone Batman movie is growing. After a short video was leaked online director, Matt Reeves thought it would be best to release the whole scene for the fans to enjoy. Mr. Reeves stated on his Twitter, “Many of you have seen this scene from The Batman floating around online, so I decided to put it up on my Vimeo in 4k.”
The sequence shows one of Batman’s classic villains, The Riddler, crashing a funeral, literally. A car drives through the crowd, and Bruce Wayne only has seconds before saving a child. Inside the vehicle is a man with a bomb scotch-taped to his neck, and he is holding a cellphone that is ringing. A truly terrorizing and intense three minutes in which we see some of Robert Pattinson’s acting as the new caped crusader. Without uttering a single word during the scene, the actor transmits the intensity and the terror of such an attack on a funeral home.
The Batman is heavily inspired by the Year One comic book storyline that focuses more on Batman’s skills and abilities as the world’s greatest detective and less on global alien threats such as Doomsday and Wolfsbane, as seen in Ben Affleck’s version of the dark knight in The Justice League and Batman v. Superman movies. The film is scheduled to release on March 4th, 2022.
