“Directed by Jonathan Levine” is an end making a lot of people happy lately. Levine has managed to draw praise for character-driven comedies like 50/50 and The Wackness. As previously reported on mxdwn.com, Seth Rogen and Joesph Gordon-Levitt (both from 50/50), are reuniting with Levine for an Untitled Christmas Movie set to begin production next week in New York City. As Hollywood Reporter reports, Showtime’s Masters of Sex star Lizzy Caplan will be joining the trio.
This new movie will focus on three childhood best friends who unite in New York for their traditional night-on-the-town Christmas Eve. Caplan will play Diana, Gordon-Levitt’s lover.
Sony Pictures Entertainment is distributing, while Rogen is sharing the producer title with This is the End co-director Evan Goldberg. The collaboration will make this production a joint venture with Point Grey Pictures and Good Universe, the oness behind 50/50 and Neighbors.
Caplan, who has been nominated for an Emmy for her portrayal of Virgina Johnson in Masters of Sex, has already worked with Rogen on his up-coming Kim Jong-un assassination movie The Interview.
The Untitled Christmas Movie will also co-star Anthony Mackie (Captain America: The Winter Solider) and is slated to hit the multiplex December 11, 2015.
