Marvel Studios’ Victoria Alonso Promoted to President

According to Hollywood Reporter, Victoria Alonso, who has been at Marvel Studios since the first Iron Man, has been promoted to president. She will oversee physical and postproduction, visual effects, and animation production for Marvel. She’ll also work across the studio’s slate of film and series, reporting to co-president Louis D’Esposito. Her previous position was Executive VP Production.

Alonso was brought to Marvel Studios in 2006 as chief of visual effects and postproduction. She served as co-producer on Iron Man (2008), the film that launched the MCU. After serving in the same role for Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), and Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), Alonso was promoted to executive producer on Avengers (2012). She will maintain that title for upcoming pics, including Eternals, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Thor: Love and Thunder.

But she is not just known for her behind-the-scenes work; Alonso has also become a public-facing executive for Marvel. She is a strong advocate for the future of onscreen representation at the studio and is memorable for bringing a mix of wit and inspiration to Marvel’s events. In addition, Alonso was named one of People en Español magazine’s Most Influential Hispanic Women for two years running (2019, 2020) and was featured on The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Power 100 list multiple times.
