Marvel Studios has just released the newest trailer for the upcoming anti-superhero film Thunderbolts* amid this year’s Superbowl football game. The extended trailer granted viewers a new look at the unlikely team, consisting of Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Red Guardian (David Harbour), U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), and Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), who must band together to face a looming threat against the American people.
Also in the trailer is Julia Louis Dreyfuss’ character, who mentions that Earth’s mightiest heroes, The Avengers, will not be coming to their aid. Though they are far from superpowered, Barnes, AKA the Winter Soldier, assembles the vigilantes to combat the unseen danger when the nation needs protection. Red Guardian is seen hyping up the team, dubbed the Thunderbolts, in a Captain America-style pep-talk in response to Yelena’s remark, “none of us are heroes”.
Thunderbolts* releases in theaters on May 2, 2025. Watch the new trailer below.
