A new Hershey’s movie begins filming this coming May. The film will star Finn Wittrock and Alexandra Daddario as Milton and Catherine “Kitty” Hershey, the philanthropic founders of the beloved chocolate empire.
According to Michele Buck, president and CEO of The Hershey Company, “This movie will reveal how Milton and Kitty built something far greater than a chocolate company. Their legacy extends beyond sweet treats to education, community and opportunity for thousands.”
Mark Waters (Mean Girls, Freaky Friday) will direct the inspirational story of the husband and wife duo who donated their riches to provide education and housing for underprivileged children. Waters plans to focus on the beautiful relationship the couple shared.
The Hersheys married in 1898 when Milton was in the process of creating the iconic chocolate bar. Tragically, Kitty died prematurely from a nervous system disorder at age 43. Milton never remarried and carried a picture of his late wife for the rest of his life.
The film is produced by Sharon Paul, Mark Tilghman, Mary Aloe, Joshua Harris and Will Hardy, with executive producers Daniel Hank, Joseph Lanius, Flip & Susan Flippen and Joanne Marlowe.
The Hershey’s film does not yet have a distributor. It is set for a 2026 release.
