Mark Ruffalo On The Possibility Of A Solo Hulk Movie

Mark Ruffalo is one of the MCU alums, yet he is the only veteran member without a solo project. And as the MCU has added to the roster of heroes, almost everyone has gotten a solo project as well.

In a recent interview with GQ, Ruffalo was asked if he ever wished he had a Hulk film. He answered, “Yeah, I’d love to have a solo Hulk movie. I don’t know if you know the story of that, but it’s not really owned by Marvel; it’s a Universal property. I don’t know if it’ll ever really come to be, honestly.” He stated, “We keep talking about it, what it would be,” but “There’s been so many Hulk movies already, it’s like, does anyone really want another one?” The last Hulk film (which is also technically an MCU installment) was 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, with Edward Norton portraying the Hulk at the time.

Even so, Ruffalo would still seize the moment of headlining the project if it were to happen, saying, “But I’d love one, and I do think the audiences would be into it if we could crack the nut of it.” Ruffalo as Hulk has not had a solo project, but has made a litter of appearances in the MCU. He has appeared in all four Avengers films, Thor: Ragnarok and the mid-credit scene in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. He last appeared in the MCU in the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law series. Ruffalo as Hulk is set to appear next in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Back in August, it was revealed that Ruffalo would join the Brand New Day cast alongside Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, with the character making his Marvel Studios film debut. It is still unclear if he will appear in Avengers: Doomsday, as he was not revealed during the surprise cast announcement live-stream that took place on March 26 earlier this year.
