Malcolm D. Lee’s ‘Space Jam 2’ Debuts First Look at Bugs Bunny

Fans have been waiting over 20 years for a sequel to the iconic Space Jam, and it’s finally almost here. In the original, basketball legend Michael Jordan teamed up with the Looney Tunes gang, and this time, Space Jam: A New Legacy has NBA star LeBron James as the lead. After LeBron confirmed the logo and title back in April, there have been a few pictures and snippets here and there, but nothing official from Warner Brothers, until now.

According to Screen Rant, just last week, WarnerMedia’s virtual panel at CCXP debuted the first look at Bugs Bunny’s design. A brief video showed Bugs Bunny giving a tour of the Warner Brothers lot while he talked about Space Jam 2. Omelete, a Brazilian entertainment website, posted a screenshot of the bunny on Twitter. The image only showed Bugs from the neck up as he sat behind the wheel of what appeared to be a golf cart, but it was enough to get fans excited.

In addition to LeBron James, Space Jam 2 will star Don Cheadle and Sonequa Martin-Green. The film will be directed by Girl’s Trip Malcolm D. Lee. Currently, Space Jam 2 is said to be released next summer on July 16, 2021.

Melissa Cusano: I love to escape reality with reading, writing, movies, and music! If I'm not working I love to go to concerts (pre-covid), play video games, and hang out with my dog Ozzi.
