Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild to Honor Jon Favreau

Jon Favreau is set to receive the Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild’s Distinguished Artisan Award. The award will be given to Favreau virtually from the ninth annual MUAHS awards. The award will be presented by Ming-Na of The Book of Boba Fett fame.

In a statement, guild president Julie Socash said: “Jon Favreau’s list of creative, exotic and memorable characters lives on in his plethora of films, television movies, and series. Jon is the ultimate collaborator who has worked alongside many 706 artists to help create memorable characters of all kinds in a myriad of different roles. We are thrilled to present the Artisan award to Jon as he is highly respected by make-up artists and hairstylists worldwide.”

Favreau has one of the most impressive resumes of filmmakers working in Hollywood today. He rose from indie fame after starring in and helming the script to Swingers in 1996. Since then he jump-started the Marvel Cinematic Universe after directing Iron Man in 2008. He also served as executive producer for all of the preceding Avengers films. He also plays Happy Hogan in several MCU films.

He is currently also working in the Star Wars universe, acting as executive producer for both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
