Christopher MacBride, director and writer of the 2012 thriller The Conspiracy, is teaming up with Maika Monroe (It Follows) and Dylan O’Brien (The Maze Runner) to bring time-traveling mystery thriller to Cannes this week for sales, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Education of Fredrick Fitzell delves into a man’s past, present, and possible futures – a journey that leads him closer and closer to solving a mystery that has gone unsolved for a long time. Will he able to discover the true answer to the mind-boggling conundrum?
Mindhunter’s Hannah Gross will also star. MacBride will be handling both the directing and writing duties once again. Lee Kim, who worked with MacBride on The Conspiracy, will produce, along with Addictive Pictures’ Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder.
The film is set to begin shooting this summer, most likely after receiving funding during the Cannes Film Festival. The script has received a significant amount of praise from various members of the film crew, stating that the script “defies genres.” The Cannes Film Festival begins its run on May 8th and will run until May 19th.
