M. Night Shymalan Sets All Star Cast for His Next Movie

M. Night Shyamalan, the mind behind The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable trilogy, has rounded out the cast for his next movie. As first reported by Variety, Eliza Scanlen, Thomasin McKenzie, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff and Vicky Krieps are set to star in the film.

Like most of his movies, Shyamalan will write, produce and direct the project which is currently untitled. The movie will be released by Universal, who has found itself boycotted by multiple movie theater chains for their recent comments embracing VOD theatrical releases during the COVID-19 pandemic. Similar to most Shyamalan movies, the plot details are shrouded in secrecy at the moment.

Despite making some critically panned in the early half of the decade, Shyamalan has seen a career resurgence by independently financing his last 3 movies, all of which have become mega hits. Those films, Glass, Split and The Visit, had a combined production budget of $35 million and went on to gross more than $600 million worldwide. Alongside all his production roles on the film, Shyamalan will additionally finance it.

Audiences might remember Vicky Kreip from her breakout role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s romance drama Phantom Thread, in which she starred alongside Daniel-Day Lewis. Scanlen starred alongside Amy Adams in the HBO miniseries Sharp Objects, McKenzie recently starred in Taika Waititi’s Jojo Rabbit, and Wolff is best-known for his performance in Ari Aster’s 2018 horror film Hereditary.
