Lorene Scafaria, best known as the writer of Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist (2008) and the writer/director of Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (2012), is moving forward with her second feature film, The Meddler, according to Deadline. The film centers on Marnie Minervini, a recent widow who moves to Los Angeles to be closer to her daughter, and get back on her feet after her husband’s death. Susan Sarandon (Tammy), Rose Byrne (Annie), and J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) are on board to star in the film, which begins production later this month. Sarandon will also be an executive producer on The Meddler, along with Steve Golin of Anonymous Content. Golin has produced a number of critically acclaimed films, including Spike Jonze’s Being John Malkovich (1999), Michel Gondry’s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), and Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Babel (2006).
