“Charles, the world is not the same as it was. Mutants – they’re gone now.”
20th Century Fox released the official trailer for their final installment of the Wolverine franchise starring Hugh Jackman, titled Logan.
Unlike we have seen him before, Jackman’s Wolverine is a grizzled and scarred former X-Men who does not want to fight. His healing abilities are not what they used to be and he’s quite content living a life of solitude. In a distant future where this film is set, the X-Men no longer exist due to the nefarious Nathaniel Essex (hinted at the end of Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse) who over the years has been performing heinous experiments on the Mutant population. But as we know, a hero’s work is never complete. Wolverine a.k.a. Logan is contacted by an old friend, Charles Xavier (Sir Patrick Stewart) who asks him to rise one last time to protect a young Mutant named Laura (Sienna Novikov). In the trailer, it is revealed that Laura has similar abilities to Logan because she is, in fact, his clone.
Logan is directed by James Mangold and is set to release March 3, 2017. Enjoy the footage below!
