Bill Skarsgård has recently been in a lot of box office hits following his breakout role as Pennywise in both installments of Stephen King’s It. Skarsgård has starred in blockbusters such as Barbarian, The Crow, John Wick: Chapter 4, and Nosferatu. Skarsgård takes the screen again in Locked, where he will star alongside Anthony Hopkins.
Locked details a thief, played by Skarsgård, who becomes locked in a car that he was in the process of stealing. The audience learns that the car is helmed by a Jigsaw-like villain, played by Hopkins, who remotely controls it. Locked is a remake of an Argentinian film titled, 4×4. Locked will be directed by David Yarovesky who also directed Brightburn.
Recent reviews have already dropped, just two days before Locked hits a theatrical release. Rotten Tomatoes has given Locked a 77% Fresh score. This shows that although Bill Skarsgård has been in great blockbusters, such as It, he does not need to be in major-release titles to earn critical admiration. This could go well for Skarsgård as he currently has a few movies set to release that might come up under the radar. This includes the sequel for Lord of War, which stars Nicolas Cage, and The Death of Robin Hood, which will be with Hugh Jackman.
Locked is set to release on March 21st. See the trailer below:
