Cinderella actress Lily James and Jack Reynor, most recently known for his lead role in Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, are both set to star in an upcoming thriller, Seasons, from Companion writer-director Drew Hancock. The two actors lead a cast that also includes Ron Perlman, Elizabeth McGovern, Wes Studi, and Dane DeLiegro.
The film is based on the book Old Country by Matt Query and Harrison Query, which itself is based on an online short story by Matt Query that went viral after circulating on Reddit. The story follows a married couple (played in the film by Lilly James and Jack Reynor) who discover their recently purchased ranch property is ruled by ancient spirits that subject them to harrowing trials at the end of every season. Drew Hancock will write and direct the film, his sophomore feature after making his directorial debut with 2025’s Companion. Producing the film are Shawn Levy and Dan Levine through 21 Laps; James Wan and Michael Clear through Blumhouse-Atomic Monster; and Scott Glassgold through 12:01. Dan Cohen is also a producer.
Seasons is slated for release by Amazon MGM Studios on Nov. 12, 2027, a prime release window for a film likely to feature moments of rural, fall-season vibes.
