Lily Gladstone Joins High-Profile Cast in Martin Scorsese’s ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’

Martin Scorsese’s period thriller Killers of the Flower Moon has added new name to its already impressive cast list. Lily Gladstone joins Scorsese’s frequent collaborators Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio in the Apple Studios and Imperative Entertainment production. The film will be produced by the Oscar-winning director, along with Dan Friedkin, Bradley Thomas and Appian Way Productions.

Killers of the Flower Moon is based on a novel of the same name by David Grann (author of bestseller The Lost City of Z) about true events that came to be known as the Reign of Terror. Eric Roth adapted the screenplay which takes place in 1920’s Oklahoma and revolves around a series of disappearances and murders following the discovery of oil deposits on Osage Nation land. The FBI began an investigation into the crimes committed against Native Americans of the Osage Nation only to uncover a more monstrous and convoluted conspiracy lurking beneath.

Gladstone, a Native American actor who was raised on the Blackfeet Reservation in northwestern Montana, will play the role of Mollie Burkhart, the wife of Ernest Burkhart, whose family has ties to a powerful local rancher in Osage County. DiCaprio is to play Ernest, and De Niro, his influential uncle William Hale.

Lily Gladstone’s prominent acting credits include two films directed by Kelly Reichardt: A24’s First Cow and her breakout role in Certain Women. In the latter, she starred alongside Hollywood heavyweights Laura Dern, Michelle Williams and Kristen Stewart. She also acted in Alex and Andrew Smith’s Winter in the Blood and Walking Out. Gladstone had television roles in Showtime’s Billions and Room 104 on HBO.
