“Life Finds a Way:” Return to the Park with the ‘Jurassic World’ Double Feature!

Jurassic World was an unexpected surprise for critics and fans alike, not to mention a monster box office success. We just celebrated the 25th anniversary of Jurassic Park, and we’re just over a week away from the next chapter in the dinosaur franchise that all started with the astounding novel written by Michael Crichton.

Jurassic World was the first film to show us the opened theme park as first envisioned by billionaire industrialist John Hammond (played by Richard Attenborough in Jurassic Park), as well as its subsequent downfall when newly engineered dinosaur escaped, wreaking havoc. With Fallen Kingdom, a once-dormant volcano is about to erupt, causing an extinction level event that threatens the dinosaurs that remain on Isla Nublar. Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) return to the island to rescue the dinosaurs from the impending destruction.

This film marks the return of Dr. Henry Wu (B.D. Wong), who appeared in Jurassic World, and Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), the mathematician from the first two Jurassic Park films who specializes in “Chaos Theory.” Colin Trevorrow (who directed Jurassic World) and Derek Connolly (co-writer of Jurassic World) returned to write the screenplay. J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls) directs. Steven Spielberg, director of the first two Jurassic Park movies, is serving as an executive producer.

You will be able to see both features back to back at AMC Theatres on Thursday, June  21. Fallen Kingdom will even show one hour before its wide release. So don’t wait; buy your tickets, throw on your Jurassic Park shirt and prepare yourself to return to Isla Nublar!

Rick Rice: A kid at heart who has loved watching movies from a very young age. Credit must be given to Siskel and Ebert whose film reviews educated me on the world of film inspired me to become a writer myself. I love to read books that range from various topics, copious amounts of research is something that excites me and of course sitting in a movie theater is a highlight of my life. When I'm not watching movies or reading I enjoy listening to foreign music and working hard on finishing my short stories. Currently working on my degree in English with a plan to enroll into Film School with the dream of becoming a screenwriter and director.
