According to Deadline, Liev Schreiber (Showtime’s Ray Donovan) and Alex Wolff (My Friend Dahmer) have been tapped to star in Marc Meyers’ Human Capital. The adapted screenplay by Oren Moverman (The Messenger) is based on a 2005 novel by Stephen Amidon. Maven Pictures is producing along with Moverman via his banner Sight Unseen Pictures, and Schreiber and Matthew Stillman via their Illuminated Content. Indiana Production will executive produce.
The story follows the lives of a financially-struggling family and a privileged family whose lives collide when a tragic accident involves a member from each family. Wolff will play Ian, from the privileged side, who has begun to date Drew’s daughter. Schreiber will play Drew, head of the household of the other family.
Schreiber, who has been nominated five times for a Golden Globe for his starring role in Ray Donovan, has just completed filming Woody Allen’s A Rainy Day in New York. Wolff had a breakout performance earlier this year in Hereditary and has just been cast in Bad Education, opposite Academy Award nominated actor Hugh Jackman (for Les Miserables) and this year’s Best Supporting Actress Oscar winner Allison Janney (I, Tonya).
Human Capital is set to begin production in November.
