Actresses Liana Liberato (If I Stay) and Hannah Marks (The Runaways) are the latest castings in Banana Split, a movie which will be directed by Benjamin Kasulke (Safety Not Guaranteed). As an interesting fact, Marks will be shaping the movie both off and on-screen. Not only will she be acting as April, a protagonist, but she is one of two writers for the film, having penned it along with collaborator Joey Power (Paparazzi). Power and Marks are very heavily involved in the project and will also be part of the illustrious team of producers on the film, which will most likely give them both a fair amount of creative control over the movie.
Banana Split will center mostly around Liberato’s character and Marks’, as well as their friendship during the formative years of their lives as they grow up from teenagers to adults, a struggle with which many will be able to identify. They will act alongside Luke Spencer Roberts (Fear the Walking Dead), Addison Riecke (The Beguiled), and Dylan Sprouse (The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Dismissed), the identical twin of Cole Sprouse. The film promises to adopt a humorous tone.
As of now, it looks like the movie will be released some time in 2018.
