Liam Neeson is taking on another action hero role, this time in the newly acquired terrorist-thriller A Willing Patriot, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This time around, Neeson will be playing a CIA agent who will stop at nothing to prevent an imminent terrorist attack.
Neeson’s character will be willing to risk his own life to stop the threat, as well as protect the secrets of his mysterious past. No other plot details or members of the cast have been announced yet, as the film is still in development. A Willing Patriot will be fully funded and produced by MadRiver Pictures, with the announcement of a domestic distributor expected shortly. The movie will be helmed by Danish director Martin Zandvliet (the upcoming Land of Mine) from a screenplay by Jason Keller (Mirror Mirror).
Liam Neeson is currently filming Martin Scorsese’s Silence, and has already completed filming on Ted 2 and Entourage while his other most recent film, A Monster Calls, is still in post-production.
A Willing Patriot is currently slated for release in 2016.
