Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way Joins Documentary Project About Shifty Shellshock

Leonardo DiCaprio’s (The Wolf of Wall Street) production company, Appian Way, and entrepreneur Dax Dasilva join the documentary project of Soleil Moon Frye as executive producers. Frye’s documentary titled, The Werewolf in the Waves, follows Frye as she reconnects with her friend, Seth Binzer, also known as Shifty Shellshock of the group Crazy Town. What originally started as a documentary about a reunion tour of the band Crazy Town, turns into a love story of Frye and Shellshock, leading to his overdose on June 24, 2024. Frye told The Hollywood Reporter,

Seth’s dream was to share his journey with the world, to help those struggling with addiction and mental health challenges feel less alone and to create greater understanding and compassion. I am forever grateful for my children, Seth’s sisters, our loved ones and everyone who stood beside us throughout this journey. It is my sincere hope that this film inspires meaningful conversations and reminds us to meet one another with greater empathy, compassion and understanding.

Frye previously directed the documentary Kid 90, which followed her life in Hollywood as a child actress to young adult. When talking about Dasilva joining this project, Frye said,

Having Dax join us as an executive producer feels incredibly meaningful. His heart, vision and passion for this story mean so much to me, and I am thrilled that he is helping us carry Seth’s legacy forward.
