After being away from the big screen for three years, Halle Berry is returning to feature films in the new intense action thriller Kidnap, which looks to be in the same vein as the Taken franchise. The new trailer features more of the car chase that predominated the previous trailers.
Berry’s last theatrical film was X-Men: Days of Future Past, where she played her most well-known character Storm. Berry is also acting in the upcoming films Kingsman: The Golden Circle and Kings.
Kidnap follows the story of Karla Dyson, played by Berry, who is a single mother that is having a typical day at the park with her son. The action begins when she loses sight of her child and sees a kidnapper place her child in a car. With no time to lose, Dyson takes matters into her own hands and jumps in her car in pursuit of the kidnappers.
Berry stars alongside Dana Gourrier (The Hateful Eight, Django Unchained), Christopher Berry (Spiderman: Homecoming, 12 Years a Slave), and Malea Rose (Think Like A Man Too). The film is being directed by Luis Prieto (Pusher) with a screenplay by Knate Lee (Jackass 3D, Bad Grandpa).
Kidnap will be speeding into theaters on August 4.
