Avengers: Endgame may have been the chronological end of the road for some of the MCU‘s most beloved characters, but it looks like Marvel Entertainment chief creative officer Kevin Feige isn’t ready to turn away any good ideas just yet. During press conference for the highly-anticipated upcoming prequel film, Black Widow, Feige hinted at the potential for more prequels or spinoffs.

“Certainly this film and this story is a particular case for Natasha,” Feige said. “But the notion of exploring the past, present, and future of the MCU is certainly in the cards for all of our characters. This particular story of this particular cast is very personal, very specific to Natasha.”

Following the crossover pop-culture event that was Endgame, Marvel has been working on multiple projects taking place both before and after the events in that film. Recently, they released series like WandaVision and Loki to Disney+, both of which feature characters who were killed off in Endgame.

Black Widow is the first film based on Scarlett Johansson‘s Natasha Romanoff, who first appeared all the way back in Iron Man 2 in 2010. The new film takes place between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, and features performances from actors new to the MCU, including Florence Pugh, David Harbour and Rachel Weisz. Other cast members include O-T Fagbenle, William Hurt and Ray Winstone.

The film will release in theaters and on Disney+ July 9. However, unlike recent releases from Warner Bros. which allow HBO Max subscribers to watch newly released films at no extra cost, Disney+ subscribers will need to pay a premium access fee if they wish to watch the film from the comfort of their own home on release.
