Kevin Feige has provided further confirmation of an X-Men movie within the MCU to be released after Avengers: Secret Wars. Feige spoke about the upcoming project at Bilibili World, a gaming and pop culture festival in Shanghai, China, and hosted by the Chinese video platform Bilibili. Part of the festival includes panels and events meant to showcase upcoming films and games.
It’s in one of these panels where Feige spoke more about this upcoming project, saying the following:
“We have a movie after that [Avengers Doomsday] called Avengers: Secret Wars. And after that, the mutants are coming, and the X-Men is coming, and that has been a dream of mine. I started with the X-Men many, many years ago, and to be able to bring a version of these characters to the MCU is going to be very exciting.”
This X-Men project has been previously reported to be in the works, with Thunderbolts director Jake Schrier at the helm. Schrier has previously spoken about this project, which reportedly has The Bear co-creator Joanna Calo and the creator of the drama series Beef, Lee Sung Jin, both handling an early draft of the script. Other than that, though, no other details about the film, such as possible casting, are currently known.
