2019 seems to be quite the year for films about peoples lives through the perspective of the dog. 20th Century Fox now has a new film in this ever popular genre of dog movies called The Art of Racing in the Rain. Based on the 2008 Award Winning Novel, the film is about a race car driver and his story through the perspective of his loyal dog who is voiced by Kevin Costner.

The film is in the same vein of other dog movies in recent memory like A Dog’s Purpose where there is narration from the dog’s perspective about this journey he has with his owner. The trailer showcases Enzo as a puppy, when his owner meets a girl and when he has a child. The trailer showcases the typical dog movie tear-jerking elements that have been popular as of late and seems to be shows the audience that it is a light hearted and sweet tale about a dog’s journey as a companion to their owner.
