Ketchup Entertainment To Release ‘The Day The Earth Blew Up’ In Theaters

Upcoming feature film The Day the Earth Blew Up will be releasing in cinemas on February 28, 2025.

Ketchup Entertainment is hoping for Oscar buzz with this release. The company plans to qualify the film for this year’s Oscar animation selection. It will be premiering in Los Angeles this Saturday through the Animation is Film Festival where tickets are currently sold out.

Ketchup Entertainment CEO, Gareth West, spoke about the upcoming film saying, “For generations, the Looney Tunes have held a soft spot in the hearts of fans the world over, including my own. It’s a true pleasure to bring into theaters Peter Browngardt’s hilariously smart, emotional, and gorgeously rendered story for fans and movie-lovers of all ages to experience a wholly new and original cinematic adventure with our friends, Porky and Daffy.”

The Day the Earth Blew Up is directed by Looney Tunes executive producer Pete Browngardt. The movie will follow Daffy Duck and Porky Pig becoming heroes to face the threat of an alien invasion. This past June the film premiered at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, with positive reviews. It also had an international theatrical debut, so we are just waiting for it to officially release in North America.

The film stars Eric Bauza, Candi Milo, Peter MacNicol, Wayne Knight, and Laraine Newman.
