Keanu Reeves Voicing a New Character in ‘Toy Story 4’

With the recent release of a few teaser trailers revealing new characters, the excitement for Toy Story 4 has skyrocketed among fans on the internet. We met the quirky and slightly disfigured arts and craft project named Forky in the original teaser and then were introduced to Key and Peele’s plush duck and bear characters in a 4th wall breaking teaser trailer. Yesterday we heard word of another prolific actor who will have a role in the upcoming animated feature.

Via an interview with Tim Allen on last night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, we learned that Canadian actor Keanu Reeves (Point Break, John Wick) has a role in the film. He didn’t disclose what character Reeves is playing, but Allen described it as, “a great part…And his character does have an edge to that.” This also gives us further insight into the cast of well known actors included in the next installment.

Toy Story 4 is an extremely anticipated movie by both fans of Disney and film in general. Many of the veteran roles of the past three films will be reprised alongside all the new incoming voices. Both Allen and fellow co-star Tom Hanks have hinted at the powerful and emotional ending of the film, building the excitement for this film tenfold.

Robert Thornson Jr.: My name is Robert and I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of California Irvine. I am pursuing a B.A. in Film and Media studies with hopes to work in the creative industry. I have always had a passion for storytelling and since youth I've loved film. I grew up loving the movies of directors like Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, David Fincher, and many more along with writers such as Aaron Sorkin and Quentin Tarantino. One thing I have always done is write about movies and communicate to others information about the "film community" and the industry as well as about the films themselves. I write creatively on a daily basis.
