Keanu Reeves is set to star in the upcoming gritty action movie BRZRKR directed by Justin Lin who was credited with the revival of the Fast and Furious franchise. The new film is set to be released by Netflix and is an adaptation of the comic book series by the same name, created by Reeves himself. BRZRKR is another collaboration with Lin from their earlier movie together Last Days.
Lin recently commented about the upcoming movie by saying,
“For a year, we thought we had our financing, and I met some people, and it turned out not to be true. It’s one of those darkest moments where I felt like, ‘I tried my best, We tried.’ I felt really bad because Sky Yang was already prepping, and I’m like… ‘oh I think that’s it’, then Keanu called out of the blue, and he’s like, ‘I hear you’re having some problems. I want to help.’ It was so inspirational.”
Reeves’ first issue of BRZRKR remains one of the best-selling issues of the last decade selling over 600,000 copies. The comic book series was released through Boom! and was co-written with Marvel and DC seasoned artists Matt Kindt and Ron Garney.
There is also currently projected to be an anime spin off of BRZRKR which will be written by Madison Tomlin who originally penned the script to BRZRKR.
