Keanu Reeves In Talks To Star In New Lego Movie For Universal

Universal is developing a new Lego movie, which is planned to be a live-action/animation hybrid in contrast to the previous films, which were primarily animated. Keanu Reeves in currently in talks to star in the film, with Josh Cooley (Toy Story 4Transformers One) already set to direct. Jill Wilfert and Ryan Christians from Universal are both set to produce the film.

Keanu Reeves would be reuniting with Cooley, as the two previously worked together on Toy Story 4, where Reeves voiced Duke Caboom. This new film is not expected to be related to the previous Lego films, namely The Lego Movie and The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. Rather, this live-action/animation hybrid will tell an original story inspired world-famous toy brand. No plot details have been released yet. Stay tuned for more updates.

Keanu Reeves has been racking up the voice acting credits as of late. He reprised his role as Duke Caboom in the newly-released Toy Story 5, and his voices the title role in Masashi Kawamura’s stop motion feature Hidari. He is also expected to return as Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic the Hedgehog 4, returning from after his introduction in the third film.

Stay tuned to MXDWN for future news as the project comes together.
