Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny has finally had it’s Red Carpet debut, and all the mainstays of the series were in attendance. Indy himself Harrison Ford, creator George Lucas, director James Mangold, and previous director of the first 4 installments, Steven Spielberg, among many others. But, what wasn’t known to Ford, was that an old co-star of his would be there as well.
Ke Huy Quan is still coming off of the success of last year’s Everything Everywhere All At Once, for which he won the Academy Award for Supporting Actor. That evening, as well, the film went on to win Best Picture, with none other than Harrison Ford presenting the award. Once the cast went on stage, Quan and Ford shared a reunion that left fans of the franchise reaching for the tissues.
While Ford was answering some interview questions on the Red Carpet, Quan snuck up behind him, completely surprising the veteran actor. Once Ford saw him, he gleefully said, “you’re all grown up,” with clear pride in his voice. The pair starred in Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom, which not only served as the first sequel adventure for Indiana Jones, but also the introduction for Quan, who was just 12 at the time.
Clearly delighted to be at the premier, Quan said it was “the biggest ‘Temple of Doom’ reunion”. It brought back stars Ford and Quan, director Spielberg, creator Lucas, producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall, as well as the composer for the films, John Williams. The evening had another surprise left in store, as Williams performed the iconic theme for the character with a full orchestra.
Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny releases to the public on June 30th, and will be the final adventure for Ford’s Indiana Jones, and be sure to check out the video of Ford and Quan reuniting on the Red Carpet.
