KatzSmith Productions, which was established by David Katzenberg and Seth GrahemeSmith, has hired Wynn Wgal in the role of President of Production. KatzSmith is responsible for the series Just Beyond for Disney+ and It, released in 2017 and the highest-grossing horror film ever produced. According to Deadline, the company is also in a first-look deal with Lionsgate Television.
According to Deadline Reporting, before this switch, Wygal was the SVP of Production at Teton Ridge Entertainment, overseeing scripted and non-scripted Film and TV as well as spearheading a new podcast division. She has also been the Director of Development at Mad Chance Productions, working on films like American Sniper which won an Oscar, and Nyad which was Oscar-nominated.
Other roles Wygal has held include Additional roles include VP of Film at Parkes + MacDonald, and at Aftershock Media. There, she worked on Film and TV, most notably Dead Day by Ryan Parrott with showrunners Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec. It was planned to go straight to streaming with Peacock but did not move forward.
