Actress Katie Holmes (The Woman in Black) has just signed onto new film called The Secret. While its source material is based in literature, the movie actually owes its roots to a self-help book; this lends a more unexpected foundation in comparison to typical film inspirations, which tend to lie in fiction. Written by Rhonda Byrne, the acclaimed book involves a woman (most likely played by Holmes) who has lost her husband. It proceeds to show her interactions with a handyman who comes help make sure that her home can withstand a rising storm.
Holmes’ career lately has involved a lot of compelling and well-varied choices: recently she revisited the iconic role of Jacqueline Kennedy in the miniseries The Kennedys: Decline and Fall; acted in the television show Ray Donovan; and will appear in the upcoming anticipated, Ocean’s Eight, which boasts an excitingly large and well-chosen female cast with names like Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, and Sandra Bullock.
