Kate Beckinsale Signs On for ‘The Only Living Boy in New York’

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kate Beckinsale (Love & Friendship) is set to join Amazon Studios’ drama The Only Living Boy in New York starring Callum Turner (Green Room). Also on board are Kiersey Clemons (Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising) and Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges (Hell or High Water).

Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man 2) will helm from a screenplay written by Allan Loeb (Rock of Ages). The story centers on a young man (Turner) recently graduated from college who finds out his father is having an affair, and begins a relationship with his father’s mistress (Beckinsale). Beckinsale’s character finds the son charming and intends on sticking around the family.

Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa are producing. Miles Teller (Whiplash) was originally attached to star in the film, but has since backed out.

Beckinsale received wide critical praise for her recent starring role in the period film Love & Friendship. She will reprise her role of Selene in Underworld: Blood Wars, the next installment in the Underworld action film franchise, set for release on January 6th.

The Only Living Boy in New York will begin shooting in early October.
