Despite the star-studded cast and a franchise roundup of iconic scenes and characters Karate Kid: Legends came in with anything but a legendary finish for its first week being outperformed by Memorial Day Blockbusters Lilo & Stitch and the Mission Impossible Final Reckoning. Legends netted only $21 million for its opening weekend, massively underperforming from original estimates and hopeful expectations. Lilo & Stitch saw an additional $63 million for its second week on its domestic run well Mission Impossible pooled $27 million.
Fourth is new horror icon Final Destination Bloodlines with 11 million for a continued stellar performance at the box office after 3 weeks. The much anticipated second directorial outing for the Philippou Brothers, Bring Her Back, saw $7.1 million for its opening making it a solid start for the indie production.
Finally knowing what the bottom five looks like, Sinners in its 7th week still makes it makes its mark biting down on an additional $5.2 million. 7th went to Disney’s Thunderbolts*, which saw $4.8 million for its 5th week continuing a steady run for the Marvel property.
