Kaitlyn Dever (Booksmart) is set to join George Clooney and Julia Roberts in Universal’s upcoming comedy Ticket To Paradise. This will be Dever’s second Universal film this year as she is set to star in Universal’s adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen, which will be released September 27th. According to Deadline, Ticket To Paradise will tell the story about two exes who must come together to “…stop their lovestruck daughter from making the same mistake they once made”.
Ol Parker, who helmed Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again will direct, while Parker and Daniel Pipski wrote the script. Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title will produce with Sarah Harvey and Deborah Balderstone. Clooney and Grant Heslov will produce for their Smokehouse Pictures alongside Red Om Films’ Roberts, Lisa Gillan and Marisa Yeres Gill.
This is a very busy and successful couple years for Dever, as she has gotten great reviews on her work on Booksmart and the series Unbelievable which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. She is currently shooting the Hulu series Dopesick starring Michael Keaton.
Amelia Granger, Head of Film and TV, will oversee development on Ticket To Paradise with Senior EVP Production Erik Baiers and VP Production Lexi Barta on behalf of Universal. Ticket To Paradise is set to release on September 30th, 2022.
