Justin Timberlake and More Stars Join Woody Allen’s Next Project

With another week to go before Woody Allen‘s latest film Cafe Society hits theaters, the filmmaker is already gearing up for his 2017 project. Musician Justin Timberlake (Inside Llewyn Davis) will be joining Kate Winslet (The Dressmaker) along with indie actress Juno Temple (Horns) and Jim Belushi (K-9).

The untitled film will take the director back to his roots in New York City when filming commences this fall. Plot details have not yet been released, however, we do know that the film will take place in the 1950s. Just as Allen’s previous wave of movies took audiences to different parts of the globe (To Rome with LoveMidnight in Paris, Vicky Christina Barcelona), his latest string have nearly all involved different eras (Midnight in ParisMagic in the MoonlightCafe Society).

This latest film will be coming in the wake of Allen’s first dalliance with television through Amazon Prime. He has recently finished a six-part series for the young production company that will star himself, Miley Cyrus, and Elaine May (Small Time Crooks), among others. Allen has expressed regret in several interviews since filming that it was “a catastrophic mistake” to agree to a series in the first place. Allen will likely be very eager to get back to film and this new project.

This will be another go around at a period piece for Timberlake after 2013’s Inside Llewyn Davis. He will next appear in the animated film Trolls opposite Anna Kendrick and also has a small part in pal Andy Samberg’s Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. Temple recently starred in HBO’s Vinyl and is now filming Tommy O’Haver’s (Ella EnchantedThe Most Hated Woman in America.
