Jude Law Tapped to Join Spy Thriller ‘Rhythm Section’

According to The Hollywood Reporter, twice-Oscar nominated actor Jude Law (HBO’s The Young Pope) is in negotiations to join The Rhythm Section, starring Blake Lively (Café Society). The film is an adaptation of the first in the series of Mark Burnell’s novels centering on Stephanie Patrick (Lively), a civilian-turned-assassin who hunts down those responsible for an airplane crash which killed her family. If the film does well at the box office, a potential franchise may be born.

Reed Morano, who just picked up a directing Emmy last month for The Handmaid’s Tale, is attached to direct. James Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli will produce under Eon Productions. Stuart Ford, Greg Shapiro, and Burnell are executive producing. Paramount will handle global distribution.

Law is currently filming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2, in which he plays Albus Dumbledore. He has a musical drama lined up next, Brady Corbet’s Vox Lux, which also stars Rooney Mara (Lion) and Stacy Martin (Winter).

We will keep you posted as new developments arise.
