Sci-fi director Joseph Kosinski is now officially attached to direct the sequel – currently without a title – Tron 3. This movie will follow the events of Tron: Legacy, released in 2010. Kosinski has a lot of experience with these kind of high-concept science-fiction films, having directed the aforementioned Tron: Legacy as well as other well-known sci-fi flicks like last year’s Oblivion. Also returning for this sequel will be Garrett Hedlund, reprising his role as Sam Flynn, and Bruce Boxleitner, reprising the role of Alan Bradley – though in Tron: Legacy his computer-version falls into the Sea of Simulation, supposedly dead. There haven’t been any plot details released for the story and the project hasn’t officially been given the green light, but production is scheduled to start this fall. Tron: Legacy did well at the box office thanks to Disney’s marketing, but received mixed reviews from critics.
