According to The Hollywood Reporter, former MGM executive Jonathan Glickman may potentially become Miramax’s new CEO, replacing former CEO Bill Block. During Glickman’s time at MGM, the James Bond franchise produced billions for the company and he took charge in relaunching the Rocky franchise as the Creed series. Two years after Glickman departed from MGM, he started Panoramic Media; the company would be acquired by Miramax as part of Glickman’s deal to become the new CEO. Panoramic Media currently holds a number of noteworthy properties, such as the Addams Family animated films and Netflix’s Wednesday. Before his time at MGM, Glickman worked at Spyglass as president of production where he played a role in the Rush Hour trilogy as well as the Shanghai Noon films.
Miramax is currently more well-known for its extensive library of films more than its introduction of new titles to the big screen; however, the company hopes to create more content for film and TV. In recent years, Miramax’s newer titles include two Guy Ritchie films: The Gentlemen starring Matthew McConaughey and The Wrath of Men starring Jason Statham. In regards to its television titles, last year Miramax was also able to acquire the rights to the horror series Halloween.
