John Woo’s, Once A Thief, is getting a 4k UHD and Blu-ray release. The movie will release on August 2nd, distributed by Arrow Video and feature two limited edition versions. This limited edition release of the movie will feature, new interviews with director John Woo as well archival interviews, brand new audio commentary and a collector’s booklet. The booklet contains an essay written by Priscilla Paige, a writer for publications like Polygon and Empire Magazine. It also features a sleeve of the original artwork and a new artwork designed by Sam Hadley, a designer who’s work with HBO and Coca Cola. As of now, the tow editions can only be pre-ordered on Arrow Video’s United Kingdom Website. The movie itself is comedy/heist movie starring Chow Yun-Fat(Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), Cherie Chung(An Autumn’s Tale) and Leslie Cheung (Happy Together). The three stars play a trio of thieves who plan a revenge heist to rob their adoptive father after he has betrayed them. The trio also find themselves in a love triangle and other comedic situations that departs from the serious crime drama’s Woo have done such as, A Bullet To The Head, a movie about another trio of heisters, that get caught in between the Vietnam War Conflict.
