As movie theaters struggle to survive due to the Covid-19 pandemic, John Cena claims that his upcoming film Fast & Furious 9 is a reason to return back to the them. The infamous franchise’s 9th film in the installment will be directed by Justin Lin. The film was originally scheduled to be released in May of 2020 but Universal has since delayed it to May 28th, 2021.
This will not be the last film in the franchise either, as two more installments are scheduled to be made in the future. There will be many returning cast members including Vin Diesel as Dom and Michelle Rodriguez as Letty, but in addition F9 will feature John Cena as Dom’s never before seen brother Jakob.
According to Screen Rant, Cena took to twitter to tell fans that F9 is a reason to return to the theaters, as they have been struggling to get back on their feet. Even with huge films being released in theaters such as Tenet and Wonder Woman 1984, the box office has dropped to extreme lows. Many Blockbuster films are being released on HBO Max, but Cena claims that certain films such as F9 are meant to be shown on the big screen. Only time will tell if Cena’s predictions are correct, but we can hope.
