Months ahead of the 96th Academy Awards, it’s been confirmed that Jimmy Kimmel will be returning as the host. This marks his fourth year serving as host.
Kimmel is known for hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live. He is one of the longest running talk show hosts in television history. On top of hosting, he’s also credited as executive producing the program as well.
Kimmel first hosted the Oscars in 2017. He returned in 2018 and 2023 for the 90th and 95th Academy Awards, respectively.

They share our love of movies and our commitment to producing a dynamic and entertaining show for our global audience. We are deeply grateful to Jimmy, Molly and their teams for their incredible creativity and partnership and for going on this ride with us again,” Academy CEO Bill Kramer and President Janet Yang had to say about Kimmel’s return.
Upon being announced as host, Kimmel joked that he “always dreamed of hosting the Oscars exactly four times.”
According to ABC7, the nominations for the award show are to be announced Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024. The nominees luncheon will follow on February 12th.
The 96th Academy Awards will be held Sunday, March 10th.
