Jim Carrey Rumored to Be Next Marvel Supervillain

Marvel Studios is expanding the MCU at full throttle in the upcoming years and signing some of the biggest names in Hollywood. One of those names that are rumored to join Marvel’s Phase 4 is actor and comedian Jim Carrey.

As seen in the newest superhero movie Eternals, Marvel is not shying away from casting Hollywood stars such as Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek. Quite on the contrary, the House of Ideas is going out of its way to get the best talent in the show business and prove that its superhero world can be as successful as it was during the Age of Ultron and Thanos’ Endgame. It is therefore not too much of a stretch of the imagination that they would want to hire an actor with an impressive career such as Jim Carrey. A Reddit thread by r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers has come out with the unconfirmed rumor that is now spreading like wildfire on the internet, Jim Carrey has been chosen to interpret M.O.D.O.K.

M.O.D.O.K made his first appearance on comic-book pages in 1967. Even though he is best known to be one of Captain America’s sworn enemies, he might appear as soon as next year in various Disney+ shows and possibly even going to be in the She-Hulk movie scheduled to release in the summer of 2022. Jim Carrey has previous experience playing villains such as The Grinch, Sonic The Hedgehog‘s antagonist Dr. Eggman, and the Riddler in Batman Forever (1995).
